Wilson Stuart Active Society, Bikeability

Wilson Stuart Active Society (WSAS) is a not for profit Community Interest Company that improves PE and school sport in the communities of Sutton Coldfield and Erdington.

A key offering to their 28 member schools is Bikeability Level One and Level Two training for pupils in key stage two. Funding is received annually from the Department for Transport, via Youth Sport Trust, to improve cycling skills and enhance the use of sustainable transport to and from school.

The long standing relationship sees Aspire take an added value approach. We lead on Bikeability delivery, including administration, planning, organising courses, communicating directly with schools, collation and reporting of data, and programme evaluation.

More recently, Aspire have supported the delivery of Bikeability Plus modules in WSAS member schools. These modules complement and enhance the effectiveness of Bikeability Levels One and Two and include balance bike training.

Our children have enjoyed the approach to maths, through the Maths on the Move Programme - it focuses their learning and shows them the importance of maths in everything (it's not just a subject).

This is the 3rd time that my children have come to Aspire Active Camps, they love it and are already asking to go back! My younger daughter is brimming with confidence from her new-found sports skills and my older daughter has discovered a love for basketball. Top marks for the team all round!
